Friend in need of help to pay for parking tickets [0/542]

My friend who was just denied for SSI benefits just got tickets on both of his cars for expired registration. One vehicle acts as emergency shelter as he has been housing insecure for years, and the other is what he uses for work (delivery driver). He can barely work as it is due to his disability, anything helps!

The amount would cover both parking tickets, plus 1 year car registration for each vehicle. Even if we could get to half of that he would be sooo grateful. Thank you comrades

UPDATE: my friend got locked out of his delivery driving account since his registration was flagged and so he cannot do the only job that he’s been able to do with his disability. He cannot stand or walk for long periods at all and is waiting for surgery. He has already been talking to his housemate about moving back into his van due to his inability to pay rent, even before his account got locked.

Moderator Pinning Rules:

Moderators are strictly prohibited from promoting/endorsing/pinning individual mutual aid requests (especially those of their own) as this creates unfair post visibility and could therefore benefit more from that than the standard user. Moderators caught engaging in this behavior will be swiftly removed from the moderator board with extreme prejudice.

Moderators are allowed to pin and crosspost donation requests for large scope issues such as natural disaster relief funds and bail funds ((Example)[https://hexbear.net/post/16574) along with other crowd or moderator-compiled informational resources pertaining to donating or volunteering (Example), so long as the utmost due diligence is done prior to endorsement, especially in the case of directing people to donate to non-profit organizations.

Financial documents of non-profit organizations available to the public must be heavily scrutinized before moderator endorsement, and links to those must also be included in the endorsement post to help the community make their own decision if they should donate.
