Many years ago, I tried to explain to my father that my knowledge of how to troubleshoot a Mac had no bearing on my ability to help his girlfriend’s teen son troubleshoot a printer on Windows. He was like, “just talk to him on the phone and give it a shot.” I was less useful than toddler. It was a waste of everyone’s time.
