In the case of the tldr guys, they probably do believe in what they say. They simply don’t spend nearly enough time researching topics from a broad enough perspective, and often lack the expertise needed to make insightful judgments.
It’s not much better than having a crew of amateurs goggling things on Wikipedia. They just have a high production quality.
