My preliminary research on social media history of discussing Alex Jones / Austin Texas “infowars”, this Lemmy user avoids a key author (Peter Pomerantsev) on the subject of Alex Jones and anti-reality warfare that Alex Jones does against the USA population (calling Sandy Hook a non-event, War Against Reality “information warfare” behavior).

Update from the NYTThe satirical news site intends to turn Infowars into a parody of itself. But the court overseeing the bankruptcy put a hold on the sale pending a hearing next week.
There were only two bidders, the Onion and a backup bidder. The judge is looking into how the bidding process was run, because the Onion won with a lower bid than the back up bidder.
