My family and I watched the entirety of the franchise in order during COVID lockdown. Every Friday, we’d drink heavily and do a peanut gallery commentary. We also listened to the Kill James Bond podcast along with it. Good times, and the only thing that can make most of those movies watchable. It really is an insufferably gross and shitty franchise. There’s a couple bangers, and some incredible lines in there though.
That sounds like it would have been a lot of fun to do.
So I know you didn’t mean anything by the use of the term peanut gallery but I just wanted to give you a heads up that the phrase has racist origins, because of course it does!
This is not a struggle session. This is one of those “Goddamn it, why didn’t anyone tell me this before?” moments. And it’s gonna be worse when I tell you I’m not even American and that I’ve never stepped foot in the US. Death to America etc. etc.
Fuuuuuuuuuck!! We can’t have shit because of racists!!! It’s rather fitting for a lot of the bond films though, some of the most racist stuff gets played off so casually.
How about we call it the shoe gallery?

But I suppose that’s a bit dated.

I got it into my head a while that I’d watch all of them and so I’ve been steadily going through them, ngl i actually really got into the first five Sean Connery ones but its been a rocky ride since then.
The original Connery ones were pretty solid and classic cinema… Except for the sex pest/assault parts. Non-Moore ones get more entertaining at least, I think it was really poor directing and writing tbh.
The Roger Moore James Bond movies are all kind of mid if you’re expecting an action movie

Not a fan, but there are better and worse ones, and Moonraker is down there with the worst of them. Goldeneye was the last one with anything going for it imo.
