Why does all this research not translating into solid guidance that actually saves lives?

Because people don’t care, for instance how many people don’t wear seatbelts? a lot, 8-10% https://www.iihs.org/topics/seat-belts . See also on youtube “mustang doing mustang things” 😅

Well, the article’s thesis is more that transportation/traffic engineers don’t care. DoTs are set up to get grants and spend money, with a focus on throughput. Very little thought is put into safety, and most “safety” best practices are confusing, outdated, or poorly thought out.

Because america has ton of smart, competent people who know how to figure shit out.

How ever, we ran by a nepo baby regime and anything that will help peasants and/or hurt daddy’s profit is NO GO UNLESS peasants spazz out hard enough…

And even then, the spazzing like occupy and blm protests… Nothing changed… Well their propaganda got mote polarizing. Got to fight peasants so they dont figure out solidarity.
