All of that seems correct, except WWII was actually before the Hamburg flood of 1962. Also, Germany doesn’t have any Bass Pro Shops either, so there are in fact no pyramids.

Is that what drowned the giants?

Definitely. I was born after 1962 and have never met a giant.

My family was around for generations before 1962, and we have stories passed down of the time of the giants, when coke had cocaine and you could buy a hot dog for a nickel get change.

Back when I was a kid there were lots of giants around. Then as time passed they shrank to more manageable sizes. Now there are lots of little people around instead, I suspect they’re gnomes.

I get what they’re going for sometimes. This time? The image I posted was basically my reaction.

Someone says that every time I post one of these. I don’t think there are that many satirists.

The messed up part is that Facebook actively pushes this garbage. I use Meta for work/networking, and I have this stuff on my page all the time. You can’t block it because there’s so much. You can’t report it; the Facebook reply is basically, “no, nothing wrong here. It’s supposed to be like that.”

@Flying Squid I have no trouble believing that academia scientists are baffled. Everything else is up for grabs.
