i go back and forth. like we got so many more poc and queer comrades… we also got bigots trickling in. We have awesome mods who take care of things, but its still so upsetting to read on my nice website. I think ive decided its worth it in the long run. maybe we should have rolled this out slower.
I think we might need to start actively curating our subscriptions.
I browsed Hexbear the past few years mostly from all>new
Now that’s overwhelmed by Linux (I like Linux, but don’t want to read about it constantly) and ho-hum memes (Hexbear’s memes are better)
But if you subscribe/unsubscribe well, it won’t be an issue.

I think the positives have so far outweighed the negatives. And there is some benefit to being reminded that there are people out there with truly awful views and seeing them being eloquently put down (not from me, mind).
It is very funny to see how quickly the mask can fall off with some people.
