The mayor of my city who won big in the national elections wants to do big austerity measures on a national level because they are ‘much needed’ (read: will only target working class people).
That same mayor is now saying our city’s port needs an military air defense system because uhhhh reasons.
Which is funny because our party is on track to become the biggest in the city. Imagine a marxist party in charge of a city with a missle defense system. CIA would never.

That’s true. And with today’s news they found out that Belgium, HQ to NATO, EU, several other military institutions and the second largest port in Europe responsible for a lot of military transport into the continent, has no air defense system.
Noticed that when looking at NATO country armies, y’all are literally living on the fact you won’t fight someone who can strike back
Yeah and Turkey’s active and reserve personnel make up 1/6th of the total NATO force. Even more if you exclude the US. And to say Turkey is a reliable ally for the West is doubtful lol.

First day of semester 5 at university starts on Wednesday! I’m a bit nervous but also excited, I’ve been itching to get back to classes. My Genocide professor from semester 3 will be returning to teach me again in a new class (centred on research techniques), while I believed him when he told me the History department at my uni was stupidly small (he did not use the word “stupidly”) I didn’t realize just how small it was. I’m hoping before my undergrad is finished I can find a mentor, I’d like one before I move schools to do my masters, but if not I’ll have to do with just myself.

I would love to join a left wing, maybe party related martial arts group but so far I have found no support within our party to do so. And I don’t know how/don’t have the time to start one myself.
But I feel like it it highly naive not to do so. No offense to my comrades but a cute sign won’t stop the far right militia, who ARE training as we speak.
I really want to pick up a martial art myself. As a trans woman, I’m interested in some queer gyms that have kick boxing training. But Sanda is a cool martial art as well that I would like to perform, but I don’t know how queer friendly the gyms are that have it.
But tbf what’s also very important for self defense, maybe even more so, is sprint training. How fast you can run away from cops and fascists matters.
I believe ROOD does the occasional self defence class but I also believe they are Trotskyists. I guess you could still join them for the self defence 😅
Otherwise queer friendly gyms might be difficult. The martial arts world can be a macho masculine one.
I’m falling out of love with football. Still like to watch my teams and a couple of other games, but generally if another important game in another sport is going on I’ll watch that instead.
