Ukrainian supports is disappearing too.
Support for wars is typically connected to the belief that somebody else will be fighting it. The closer the war gets to making you a participant of it the more support for it tends to disappear.
Indeed, this is why the whole “we’re not a party to the conflict” line was so crucial in the west.
