I’m convinced Dr. Spaceman was based on a real Hollywood doctor.

Dr Leo Spaceman offers Jenna meth to lose weight

(If you can see the pamphlet because of the caption, it says “You do the meth!”)

I came in to make this joke and you beat me to it.

This lady would probably join a cult to cure a mental illness.

        Delta or Jenna?

I haven’t heard much about Delta Burke since the early 90s, but no major controversies come to mind (YMMV).

        Jenna definitely, though. lol

If your beauty gives you lot’s of money you can just replace it. If someone paid you 10 million wouldn’t you use meth?! I would

My first thought was that it sucks that she felt like she had to do that.

I had no idea who this was so I went and looked on IMDB and she was in a show called “Designing Women” and one of the top rated episodes has this description:

Suzanne [Burke] attends her high school reunion, where people shun her because she weighs more than she did in high school.

    Irony.

This show was similar to Golden Girls.

This show was waaaay more fucked up than Golden Girls.

For instance, The Golden Girls had an episode where they track down a jean jacket that leads them to Micheal Jackson tickets and the concept of the elderly becoming homeless. It’s a serious episode where political issues take a center stage…

Compare that to a show about a couple of women repeating a LOT of southern racist tropes… or the fact that an entire character was a 90s gay stereotype.

How about the episode where Rose was informed she might have received HIV infected blood, and the show tackled the stigma around it while she waited 72 hours for the results.

Man shows up at the pearly gates, sees this guy in a pinstripe suit and a briefcase, a cigar, prancing about. He says to Saint Peter, ‘Who’s that guy?’ Saint Peter says, ‘Ah, that’s just God. Thinks he’s Denny Crane.’

It’s literally FDA approved for weight loss.

Methamphetamine (desoxyephedrine) was first approved in 1943 by the FDA for treating narcolepsy, mild depression, postencephalitic Parkinson syndrome, chronic alcoholism, cerebral arteriosclerosis, and hay fever. Later, in 1947, methamphetamine was also approved as the first drug for treating obesity.

Anecdotal evidence (seeing a couple of methheads) says it works.
For weight loss at least, doesn’t mean you will look good, just thin.
