      That’s the best part: We’ve painted ourselves into a shitty corner and now we can’t get out without voting for someone we don’t want.

      No progressive could possibly win because that’s not what Americans want. I’m surrounded by people who terrify me and I’m powerless to stop them.

      This is why I’ve given up hope of ever having a government I consent to be ruled by.

      Nothing makes me feel less American than an election.

          Which is kinda fucked considering the Declaration of Independence says they derive their power from the consent of the governed.

              They don’t.

              If I were to non-violently withhold taxes to protest this genocide, the government would violently drag me into prison.

              Non-violent people only have power if there are violent people backing them up.

              It’s not like the guards who walked Ruby Bridges into school were armed with stern faces.
