My then high-school age niece was using gay derogatorily, in like 2020. I got “okay boomer” when I asked her not to use it in a negative way.
Funny enough the Chinese word for “comrade” is also used by LGBT people to refer to each other
It’s very annoying when my non socialist friends just randomly drop it because I thought we’ve matured past our elementary school vocabulary lol.
Did it ever go away? Most people I know still say this, along with regular use of the r slur and f slur.
