No, no, no. They aren’t advanced enough to experience True Capitalism. In Africa, Capitalism has simply never been tried. That’s why they don’t have the big malls and the ranch style homes and the overabundance of third world natural resources at discount rates.

To the Africans I say GIVE CAPITALISM A CHANCE. Your first step is to launch a fleet of Liberation Ships to the coast of Florida, where you can bring Freedom and Justice to the oppressed peoples of Miami and Ft. Lauderdale. Then spread your message of peace, love, and the Grace of God all along the Gulf and Atlantic Coasts, where millions of lazy and uneducated white natives have fallen victim to the removed habits of a Godless Nation. Finally, you can build for yourselves a shining City on a Hill using the newly harnessed energy resources of these once slovenly and backwards peoples. And you can set yourselves up as an example for the rest of the Central World, as a glorious African Union.

No you silly goose. That’s not real capitalism. Real capitalism is when nice things happens to white people in office towers in the west.

It’s supposed to be “evidence” that the global south doesn’t “use capitalism,” which is supposed to explain…something.

Imo it’s implied that the reason they’re “underdeveloped”, “poor”, and have low life expectancy etc are all because they aren’t “using capitalism”. Which, while not what they mean, is not entirely wrong; if Angola were the global capitalist hegemon and able to use capitalism as an extractive weapon on other countries, presumably they’d be a lot better off.

I got that, but then you look at like Italy and Botswana and this just falls apart

Like, the argument seems to be “look at this map, let’s be more like Georgia”

It would probably also help to understand the nonexistent point if the map had more pixels

They technically have their own prime minister-ish figure and are a semi-autonomous nation with their own succdem led parliament. Like they still have to submit to England, but I guess they appease Scots by allowing them some different systems

For example, university is tuition free in Scotland but insanely expensive in England, which basically makes Scotland 50% USSR to these people

      https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Botswana#Independence

In the 1970s, Botswana held a reputation of being one the world’s principal producers of diamonds. This reputation has held into the modern day as Botswana’s diamond mining industry is among the world’s largest.

Plenty of them are just Settlers.

          South African, Johannes “Jannie” Mouton

          Rhodesian, Jonathan Gibson

          Italian Giorgio Giachetti

          Canadian Eira Thomas

They’re all just European ex-pats looting the country from the inside.

There’s a difference between settlers and expats

Settlers connotate hands-on rawdogging early bloody landholding and industrial capital and its allies, that seeks to ethnically cleanse, if not genocide an indigenous area and settle its new superstructure there… they’re much direct and reactionary as is…

I mean I guess, but expats strike me more as part of a sterile Finance capital, PMC and its allies around the world, who are essentially little Eichmanns that stay in one country and move to another for business and so on so forth, keeping their hands and image ‘clean’, ‘diverse’, et ‘diplomatic’… they aren’t really Trumpists, who want to defend to hell their settler-colonial land…

They may not ethnically cleanse, if not genocide native populations but they do the paperwork of approving company policy to ruin them into the ground…

This makes no goddamn sense. France is partially capitalist? I could see that being a “social democracy isn’t real capitalism” angle but then why the hell are the Nordic countries full capitalism? Botswana is full capitalism but South Africa is only partial, guessing that’s a “we have to recognize it’s highly developed for Africa but we don’t like Mandela so it gets a ding.”

Communism was abandoned in 1991 which proves it always fails. But capitalism being embraced everywhere afterwards and countries still collapsing shows that communism always fails!
